Cheshire West and Chester Council are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Highways Engineer Position (Grade 8) within our Chester Highways Office. This vacancy is for a Highways Engineer, Grade 8, within the Guilden Sutton, Chester, Highways Office.
The role will be working within a highly productive team carrying out duties of design and procurement of works varying from surface treatments and carriageway resurfacing to larger improvement schemes for delivery of works across the Borough.
The main responsibilities will be to contribute to the Transport and Highways Directorate by delivering yearly programmes of works to relevant budgets allocated. Also to ensure effective, efficient and safe delivery of works within the service for users and the people of Cheshire West and Chester in accordance with Council policies, procedures and resources.
The job requires using a varied element of computer systems including AutoCAD, Microsoft Teams, Confirm and Microsoft Office applications. The job also requires a good experience of working on both highway design and maintenance projects.
The role is classed as a 'Hybrid' worker which means that the successful applicant will be expected to work from the office and on site, however, it may also enable working from home when agreed with their line manager.
