Natural Environment Officer
We are seeking a qualified ecologist, with experience of providing advice on planning applications and supporting other services to deliver their projects with nature in mind.

You join us at an exciting time as our biodiversity work expands, our team is creating landscape scale habitats on Council and partner land for Biodiversity Net Gain, responding to the Council's Nature Emergency and developing a pipeline of investment opportunities as we lead the development of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Cheshire.
You will have excellent technical knowledge, great communication and problem-solving skills to regulate Biodiversity Net Gain as part of development. Good botany skills would be beneficial, with working knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and experience using Defra's metric. Ideally you will hold CIEEM membership, Bat and/or GCN licenses and have experience undertaking surveys and supervising works affecting protected species.
Although this post is to provide maternity cover, the team is in a period growth for both the regulatory and habitat delivery services it provides, so this role could potentially lead to other opportunities.
